Duration of studies for a BSc degree is 4 years. After completion of a BSc course students can study another 1 - 1,5 years to gain a Certified Specialist's degree or 2 years - to do a MSc degree.

In 1996 a system for receiving the second higher education was introduced at the university for those who already have a higher education diploma and for graduate students.

The second higher education is offered in the academic areas "Economics" and "Informatics and Computer Engineering" and in the specialties "Management", "World Economy", "Economics and Business Administration in Machine-Building Industry", "Computing Machines, Complexes, Systems and Networks". The second higher education is provided in the form of evening and correspondence courses.

Since 1999 short-term programs for Certified Specialist's degree were introduced for graduates of secondary vocational colleges. Duration of studies is 4 years.
